Healthy Tortilla Chips
Raise your hand if you are guilty of mindlessly reaching into a bag of tortilla chips, shoveling one after another into your mouth? My hand is RAISED! Tortilla chips are one of those snacks I cannot say NO to. I imagine it is the crunch and the salt, but while I love eating them, I loathe the bloated yucky feeling post-indulgence. These fried crisps are loaded with fat, calories, and sodium that adds up fast! Yea and I am fast eater so more if gone before I realize it! UGH!!
So I went looking for a healthy alternative and the 21 Day fix came to the rescue! Why do we do this, when it’s quick and easy to make your own healthy tortilla chips with actual corn tortillas? These healthy tortilla chips taste fresh and have a satisfying crunch you’ll love, without the guilt. I LOVE the crunch! You can even dress them up with a squeeze of fresh lime (yummy!), serve with salsa or a healthy dip, or make healthy nachos.
Healthy Tortilla Chips – Ingredients:
- 15 corn tortillas, cut into wedges
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1 tsp. sea salt (or Himalayan salt)
Healthy Tortilla Chips- Preparation:
- Heat oven to 375° F.
- Lightly coat both sides of tortillas with spray. Arrange in a single layer on two baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until crisp.
- Sprinkle with salt.
