It’s hard to get motivated especially after a vacation. Tell me about it! Brian and I just got back from out first vacation in 3 years. We went to Wyoming and visited Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park. It was beautiful! So much wildlife and wide open spaces. It made it hard to come back to Houston!!
One of the things that has helped me in my journey is consistency. After a long day of travel on Saturday with limited sleep, the last thing I wanted to do Sunday was to get up to work out. BUT, this was a commitment I made to myself and my family. Therefore after hitting the snooze button one too many times, I got up and dressed and gave my all to Les Mills Pump Step. I had planned to go run with Brian, but bad weather and limited time before Church made me rethink my plan. I adapted and restarted on my fitness journey.
Here is my Accountability for today:
Here are a few Tips for getting back on track:
Continue to schedule your workouts: By continuing to schedule your workouts you’ll feel more inclined to stick to them.
Make new fitness goals: Adjust your fitness goals once you return from vacation to incorporate new, fun fitness aspirations. Setting new, attainable goals is a great way to re-spark your interest in physical activity and keep you on track with weight loss. Start a new program, get friends involved. Make this a priority!
Give yourself a fitness reward: Treat yourself to a new pair of athletic sneakers or a new piece of workout equipment you’ve wanted to try. Treating yourself to an encouraging fitness reward can really make a difference in your workout morale—especially if it declined after a vacation.
Remind yourself that fitness is a necessity: You must engage in regular physical activity to sustain or continue weight loss. You will need to employ healthy eating and lifestyle habits for the rest of your life if you wish to stay in shape and be healthy for yourself, family and friends. Post you Goals where you can SEE them!!
Don’t let a vacation set you back with your fitness goals!!
